Kashmiri Leader Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai

FBI has arrested twelve people in connection with great kashmiri leaders Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai.

The identity of arrested people remained unknown to the media.

The FBI had issued arrest warrants for the suspicious persons on Friday. They were accused of having links with Fai.

Dr Fai was detained few days ago on the suspicion of his links with the ISI.

In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan has expressed serious concern over the arrest of Dr Fai, the Executive Director of Kashmiri American Council, in the US, and termed it the result of strategic partnership between New Delhi and Washington.

Nayeem Ahmad Khan talking to different delegations in Bhaderwah said, “New Delhi has started a new policy of defaming Kashmiris on diplomatic front as well and the arrest of Dr Fai is a result of that new policy. The arrest can’t be termed as a mere and simple police action, but it is the result of the present New Delhi-Washington strategic partnership.”

APHC leader and the Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz Jammu and Kashmir, Yasmeen Raja, condemning the arrest of Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, urged the US authorities to grant Dr Fai a fair opportunity to defend himself against the FBI-framed allegations. In her statement issued in Srinagar she said that Dr Fai and other Kashmiri leaders were peacefully and democratically projecting the Kashmir dispute at international level.

APHC leader and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) Chairman, Ghulam Ahmed Mir in his statement in Jammu strongly denounced the arrest of Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai. He said that Dr Fai was an ambassador of Kashmiris abroad and his arrest was unjust. He appealed to the world community especially the human rights organisations to play role in his immediate and unconditional release.

Syed Ali Gilani in a message issued simultaneously in Srinagar and New Delhi, today, said that the support of Pakistani people to the Kashmiris has always served as inspiration for them in their struggle to achieve the inalienable right to self-determination

He expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause. The veteran leader pointed out that the people of Kashmir had resolved not to sit idle in the face of Indian state terrorism.

In Baramulla, forceful anti-India demonstrations were held to protest against the stepped up Indian atrocities against the Kashmiris. Undeclared curfew was imposed in Sopore to prevent people from staging protests against the recent killing of two sisters in the town.

The puppet administration dismissed two teachers at Soibugh in Budgam for their involvement in the last year-uprising in occupied Kashmir.
